In case you did not receive your confirmation -or- you made a last minute decision to do day of trial entries for tonight’s USDAA Agility Intro trial, you can see all information posted under the menu item “Trial Documents”.
If doing day of trial entries, doors open at 5:30. Check-in is from 6:00 to 6:20. Remember it will be rush hour so give yourself a little more time to get there than usual.
The premium for the May 18-19, 2019 Artful Dodgers USDAA trial at the Oriole Dog Training Club is now available on-line at
This is a single ring trial indoors on Sprinturf and consists of all levels (Starters thru Masters) of titling classes – Standard, Gamblers, Relay, Snooker, and Jumpers – offered over 2 days. In addition, we have a Grand Prix and Biathlon as well as Intro Jumpers.
Depending on the entry size, we plan to offer a limited number of Mulligan runs and of course, if you need to do a little training in a trial environment, Fix and Continue will be offered in all classes which have a numbered course design.
Stick around after the trial on Saturday for some food and a Preakness watching party. Sign up on the entry form or email the trial secretary (JLGauntt@aol.com) before we order the food!
As with all USDAA trials, entries are unlimited, as long as the entry is received by the closing date of May 8, 2019.
Some big titles were earned at this weekend’s trial: Terry Herman and the amazing Idgie earned their 1000th qualifying leg to complete USDAA’s highest title: the Lifetime Acheivement Award – Championship Diamond. Idgie is the ninth dog to earn this title and the first Miniature Poodle to do so. (The title is so rarely earned that no club actually stocks a title ribbon for it!)
Sally Josselyn & Paiva completed the final major goal they had been aiming for since transitioning to the Performance program: Performance Dog Champion Bronze.
Several other exhibitors were able to finish milestones in their agility career as well:

Be sure to get in your entries next week for the October 2018 Artful Dodgers USDAA trial to be held again in our training building in Halethorpe, MD. See here for more information on this trial.
In addition to having a great trial this weekend under judge Patty Drom, Saturday featured a “Farewell Tour” party for Artful Dodgers/Mid-Atlantic MADness members Barb Atkinson and Claire Schwartz who will be moving soon to Wisconsin. Fun & games ensued in the form of an after-trial Time Gamble competition (guess your time on a short agility course scored time plus faults with closest estimate winning), a wine-tasting competition and a catered Preakness viewing party.
